Available soon for Train Simulator 2012! The BR143 electric locomotive will soon be available, with highly-detailed and accurate controls which get you as close as possible to the driving seat of a real BR143!
 
The BR143 is a familiar general-purpose electric locomotive in widespread use across Germany. Introduced in 1985, it proved very capable and is a familiar sight across the network, with 600 having been built and most still in regular service.
 
Developed by virtualRailroads, the BR143 has been created to give the closest possible driving simulation: from raising the pantograph and switching on the main power circuit, to selecting your driving mode and setting the speed control, you have all the controls familiar to a real BR143 driver at your fingertips. With two liveries, a Steuerwagen driving trailer and 5 scenarios for the Cologne-Dusseldorf Expansion Pack, the BR143 is a superb add-on for German rail fans and anybody who enjoys a real driving experience. NEW US DIESEL POWER comes to Train Simulator 2012! TS2012 drivers will be able to take the controls of the General Motors EMD SD75.
 
Built between 1994 and 1999, the SD75 is a 4,300-horsepower 6-axle diesel freight locomotive based on the successful SD70 series. More than 280 were built, many of which were purchased by the BNSF railroad, with two different cab variants (the ‘M’ cab and the more popular ‘I’ or ‘Whisper’ cab).
 
Looking striking in the BNSF ‘Warbonnet’ livery, the SD75 includes all the usual TS2012 features such as projecting headlamps and in-cab lighting. Available to download from Steam soon.

New European route and locomotive

Just Trains has published two new European add-ons. Please click on a title for more information.

Three Country Corner Route
The Three Country Corner Route will give you the chance to drive 81 miles of track in Austria, Germany and  Switzerland, passing through 40 detailed stations! You'll be able to drive the famous Arlbergpass steep single-track mountain pass that winds its way through the Alps to St. Anton.

Taurus and Eurofima Pack
The Taurus locomotive (sold separately by Download) will be available for you to drive on the route. This is one of the most powerful and modern locomotives on Europe's railways, and can be found across Europe in every imaginable role, from pulling freight trains to passenger services. The Taurus add-on will also include Eurofima passenger carriages.

Update Portsmouth Direct Line

The Portsmouth Direct Line Expansion Pack will be upgraded to TS2012 standard from 26 April. Complete with the Class 450 electric multiple unit and running from Woking to Portsmouth Harbour, the Portsmouth Direct Line is a great modern image UK route with third rail electrification and accurate recreations of the towns and stations along the way. The upgrade brings new lighting and skies to the route, plus the TS2012 standard cab sway, lighting and rain effects to the Class 450. This is a free upgrade to all those who already have the Portsmouth Direct Line. Available as a download on Steam from 26 April.
